Everyone has either lost their PIN code or thought they knew it and got the wrong number. In most cases the phone only gives you a total of three attempts to enter the PIN code. When you have entered it 3 times and the code is not correct, the PUK code comes into play.
How do I know the PUK of my mobile phone? The problem with the PUK is that it is a long numerical code that is difficult to memorise, and it is indicated on the back of a piece of cardboard that comes with the SIM card, and as many of us tend to have it lost in a drawer or even thrown away.
In today’s post we are going to explain what the PUK code is, some differences with respect to the PIN code and what you should do if you have to write the PUK code on your SIM to unlock the card. It is worth noting that you get the PUK code in the same way on Iphone as on Android. Let’s get started!
What is the PUK code?
This is an eight-digit code that authorises unlocking the SIM card when the three attempts of the PIN code have been used up. It is designed to ensure more security than the PIN code and to be used only in cases where we are unable to unlock the SIM card.
Therefore, as the PUK does not need to be used on a daily basis like the PIN code, nobody learns it. The problem is when we do not have the PUK code or we make a mistake by entering it repeatedly, because if this happens the company will block your SIM card forever and the only option is to ask for a duplicate.
How to get the PUK code
The first place to find out the PUK code is to have the card where we take out the SIM. This card is usually a piece of cardboard or plastic where the SIM is embedded. However, as the years go by, the most normal thing is that you don’t know where you have left the PUK, and this is where the problem lies.
If we don’t have the PUK code physically, we will have to contact our mobile operator. However, each operator acts in a different way. So that you don’t have any problem and you can access your SIM as soon as possible from Axarfusion we will show you how to get your PUK code through the main operators in the country.
